Scott Mackay set up Mackay Planning in early 2008 to provide a direct planning consultancy service at Director level in all aspects of commercial and residential development, throughout the UK.
Current and past work across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland includes urban expansion areas, residential development sites, retail parks, commercial business and office parks, superstores, shopping centres, town centre redevelopment, mixed use schemes, commercial leisure, hotels, drive-thru units, changes of use and listed buildings. Negotiating complex planning consents and LDP allocations. Acting as planning consultant and project co-ordinator for retailers, leisure operators, land owners, landlords and developers. Expert witness at planning hearings, public inquiries and judicial review hearings. Local Development Plan representations. Variation/removal of Planning Conditions and Negotiation of developer contributions.

Scott Mackay BA (Hons) MRTPI
Having formerly been a partner of a national planning consultancy in Scotland and England to opening his own practice in 2008, Scott has represented developer clients large and small for 25 years. Scott has hands-on experience with how the development industry engages with the planning system. Staying ahead of frequent policy and legislative changes is Scott’s sixth sense. Actively engaging with Local Planning Authorities and finding solutions to apparent obstacles is what he does best.
